For me using a chromebook, the flatpak version of it doesn’t access the extension manager. The extension manager built into brackets allows you to install themes and packages. In addition to that it’s got a lot of support for other languages like Python, C, and C# among others “out of the box.”įor front end development it has a great live preview built into it as well. It also has functionalities for PHP as well if you’re looking to go server side.

It’s a great text editor for html, css, and javascript. It’s similar to VS Code and Atom, albeit a bit “lighter”, and built to be used for front end development. Brackets is an editor built with “Love and Javascript”. Of course it is a lot of work.I recently began exploring the Brackets editor on a chromebook. Every npm dependency should be replaced by an corresponding ebuild dependency. Thats why I added the bug #529604 and created a dependency on it from this bug. > ebuild with instructions how to build and install cef via npm before the > Cef which brackets should then depend on or just a simple check in the > The right way to fix the building from source is creating another ebuild for > the brackets ebuild would be an overkill like building gcc inside each > Building the complete Chromium Embedded Framework (Cef) from source inside > has a binary counterpart need an extra ebuild to be sure that it is build > Gentoo conform when building packages via npm/grunt every package which also > The binary building process is a problem with npm packages, to be 100% > building brackets via this ebuild, there should be no binary building at all. > If the user had build Cef from source and installed it globally before > You are right about the policy complaints, but this is not (only) a problem
